Cape Town Villas in wind free sheltered areas: Clifton, Bantry..
“What about that wind, they say”... but fortunately not all of them, it depends on location. But first lets become wind experts, we only worry about the South Easter, which blows between November and April peaking in January and February. As an average, between two and three days a week are effected, fueled by the hot air coming from Africa, hitting the cold air from the South Pole, accelerated by the thermals of Table Mountain.
However, these same winds are effectively neutralised by Lions Head and Signal Hill making Bantry Bay & Fresnaye completely free from the South Easter whilst rendering Clifton wind sheltered. To a lesser degree, the area in Camps Bay within the Glen and on Glen beach is the less windy area within Camps Bay. Everywhere else may be windy!
